What were you doing during Lockdown 2?

In November 2020, with the help of a Sport England grant, Solihull Tennis Club  completed a project to refurbish courts 4, 5 and 6! These three courts had suffered from poor drainage for many years, especially court 6, where the problem was compounded by a dip in the surface.

Following a poll of members, the Club chose to resurface with artificial grass, a surface which has proved very popular. On such a surface, the speed and bounce of that ball can be varied, so to give players a choice, a different setting to courts 1-3 was chosen. To give the most modern look (and the most reliable line calls!) , the new courts will (once the sand settles in) be blue with a green surround. 

Now we have 6 great courts to enjoy our tennis on!
